SICILY REEL

Shot in Sicily. A wedding took us there; the island is why it's on this page.Filmed with no intention of it becoming anything — which is probably why it's one of my favourite things I've cut.

BALI REEL

Shot in Bali — still my favourite place on earth, so far.

It's also where I learnt to use a camera. Not in any structured way: a lot of filming with no idea what I was doing, and slowly noticing which shots held and which didn't.

Everything else on this site traces back to that. The framing, the pacing, the instinct to take things out rather than put them in — all of it started here, on footage nobody was ever going to pay for.
